Description
A juicy classic beef burger recipe inspired by Sofia Morel’s family traditions. Perfect for grilling or stovetop, packed with flavor and nostalgia.
Ingredients
1 ½ pounds 80% lean ground beef
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 ½ teaspoons seasoning salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
4 hamburger buns
4 slices cheddar or American cheese (optional)
Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard (for serving)
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, gently mix ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, seasoning salt, garlic powder, and pepper until just combined.
2. Divide mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties, slightly larger than the buns.
3. Preheat grill or skillet to medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F.
4. Toast buns on the grill or in a toaster.
5. Place cooked patties on buns, add cheese if desired, and top with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and condiments.
6. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
Notes
Use 80% lean ground beef for juicier burgers.
Do not overwork the meat to keep patties tender.
Create a small indentation in the center of each patty for even cooking.
Customize toppings to your preference.
